Hey bb! Your summer reading list is here! I’m sharing my faves from fiction to function with a side of merm cliffs notes because duh! You know I have an opinion on everything.

I go through phases where I can’t get into a story, which is the current status of my life. Shit is vivacious enough IRL. BUT last summer I was loving a fiction moment. I was trying to escape reality, you know?  If you’re a fiction lover you’ve probably read all of these but I’m dropping my favorites from the 2020 lineup below.

• The Death of Vivek Oji

• The Vanishing Half

• Such a Fun Age

• Where the Crawdads Sing

• Crazy Rich Asians - all of em!

• Little Fires Everywhere - it’s even better than the show if that’s possible

non-fiction

This is really my shit. I live for a life-changing self-help text, a juicy memoir or anything with the undertone of hating men. Below are a few of my forever faves and some recent reads.

• The Holographic Universe 

  • This is the most important book I’ve ever read. Nothing is real, everything is a mirror and you are in absolute control of your life. Read it and then read it again.

• Material Girl, Mystical World

  • This is the book I reach for when I feel myself losing my own way.  It’s also the book that got me reading again after years away from enjoying books due to getting a (high school) education. It’s crunchy yet relatable and so current. It dives into astrology, the divine feminine tarot, crystals and all the high-vibe faves.   

• The Artist’s Way

  • Unlock your creativity by actually completing the tasks in the book, don’t just read the text! Since finishing this book (program) I’ve been on a constant wave of creation and I didn’t think I was blocked in the slightest to begin with.

• Attached

  • Important! I definitely have an insecure attachment style so I’m sure it’s less life changing if you’re a normal human but if you’re not. Read this.

• Cosmic Health

  • I loved this book. I would recommend it to anyone - even if you’re not as obsessed with astrology as I am. It gives a super accessible approach to living your best life through the lens of your birth chart.

• You Were Born for This

  • A great starting place for someone looking to dive deep into their own chart.

• Astrology for the Soul

  • Definitely a book to share as only a small portion will pertain to you but it’s a look at each north node placement and how to structure your life around yours.

• Women Don’t Owe You Pretty 

  • Buy this book for yourself and every single one of your friends. I’m about to re-read it myself.

• Hood Feminism 

  • An important read if like me you were raised in the gag-worthy girlboss era and looking to make your feminism more inclusive. 

• Bad Feminist

  • So honest and so relatable. Also, just a joy to read.

• More than Enough

  • Super inspiring for whatever stage of life you’re in. I grew up obsessed with magazines and knew every editor by name and IG handle so this book was extra exciting for me. 

• Untamed

  • I put this book down about halfway through because I got bored but I do think it’s a super great read. I’m not the right audience. I’m obsessed with myself, think the concept of marriage is incredibly strange and hate men so the whole time I was like ‘yeah girl, duh!’. But there’s a lot of good nuggets and words of wisdom.
