astrology

Astrology has consumed my life in ways I could have never imagined. From learning how to live cyclically and allowing myself grace during major transits to teaching myself how to read birth charts so I could get inside the mind of every boy I’ve ever had a crush on. Astrology has truly transformed my day to day life.

Whether you check your horoscope every few months or could launch a podcast tomorrow on the subject (foreshadowing?!) there’s a place for you in the astro-universe. I’m going to share with you my favorite resources for diving deeper into this practice

apps

If you’re looking to take your astrology practice a step beyond your average IG meme account an astro app is the perfect way to level up.

co-star

We all know and love (or hate) her. Co-star is a great intro to astrology and the easiest way to get a boy’s birth chart. If he’s been with any cool, relevant girl before he has co-star on this phone. 

It’s not the most serious of astrology resources but it’s a good time! You can now change your house system in settings to whole house (my go-to) or placidus making it much more relevant to modern astrology practices.

the pattern

Not my favorite TBH. It’s real deep and real accurate but I wish it put names to what’s happening in the sky. Tell me what planet is about to make me spiral, not just that I’m about to spiral. You know? 

moon calendar

This one is newer to me and I forget to check it TBH but when I do use it I love it. The moon changes signs every two-ish days and this app knows where it is at all times. You can input your birth time to make it more personal and specific to you and your emotions so I love to check this one when I can’t figure out what’s actually wrong. It’s usually because the moon is in Pisces.

Saved the best for last. This is my favorite astrology app I’ve ever used. I subscribe to the full version and use the app daily so I think it’s worth the $12 per month. It has everything you could ask for all in one place. An incredibly in-depth birth-chart (like TMI), weekly horoscopes, mini podcasts for the overall sky and also for your rising sign. They also have the best notifications in the game.

you were born for this

The best way I’ve ever heard a birth-chart described was as your personal factory settings. You have free-will to make your own decisions but your instinctive reactions to situations can always be traced back to your birth chart. This book is by Chani, the creator of the above app and it gives a super detailed look at your birth chart covering your sun, moon and rising sign. It goes beyond houses, signs and planets to look at sextiles, trines and conjunctions for those three placements. 

cosmic health

I am obsessed with this book. I’d recommend it to anyone, even those not interested in astrology, although if you’re not into astrology you’re probably no longer reading this newsletter. It guides you through living your best life through the lens of your birth-chart as well as honoring each season as it comes.

the astrology of you and me

This book is surprisingly iconic for an astrology book sold at Anthropologie. It covers each sign through every possible relationship you could have with them. From bosses to first dates. 

astrology for the soul

This book covers solely north and south nodes which depending on your beliefs relate to past life/current life journeys or your comfort zone/how you’re meant to grow. It’s super interesting and made me want to get a dog. Lol. Pets are good for those with virgo north nodes! 

book a reading

For a more personal experience with astrology you can book a reading with an astrologer and they can do all this research for you. I did my first reading earlier this year with @attstrology and it was the most validating experience ever. She specializes in astrology as well as human design which I didn’t know much about prior to my reading but give me a couple months and I’m sure it’ll be my latest obsession. 

All astrologers are different so look into people who can provide the specific experience you’re looking for. I wanted a more creative vibe because I can talk to you all day about my specific chart so Atts was a great fit for me. Some people specialize in transits, relationships, careers so do your research and go into your reading prepared.

As Chani says ‘astrology isn’t therapy but it is therapeutic’. I hope this has inspired you to dive a little deeper into your practice to discover more about yourself or your crush.
